Please read through the pages carefully, as you may be eligible for numerous scholarships. To download the full 24-page directory, please click here. Adobe Acrobat required.

Audition-Based Scholarship Information:

·     RMF does not require students to have an accompanist. Applicants should discuss using an accompanist with their music teacher. Students are advised not to use CD accompaniment. Teachers may accompany students in grades 1-6. Scholarships affected by this change include Garrett Balkcom (Brass & Woodwind, Grades 5-6) and Quartner Herman (String students in grades 1-6 ONLY).

·     The audition fee for students auditioning for merit-based scholarships is $20. Each additional sibling’s fee is $10. (Example, the total cost of two siblings auditioning would be $30). Requests to waive the application fee due to financial circumstances should be directed to our office at (610) 376-3395. The fee is applied once per year, regardless of the number of awards for which the student auditions.

·     March 1, 2009 Applicants: Please bring along three copies of music (two for the judges, one for the student).

·     March 28, 2009 Applicants: Please bring along six copies of music (six for the judges, one for the student).

·     Taped auditions will not be accepted.

·     Unless otherwise stated, award monies are paid directly to the music teacher, camp, institution or music vendor. College tuition awards are prorated over four years.

·     A letter confirming the date, time and location/directions of your audition will be mailed prior to the audition.

 Need-Sensitive Award Information:

·     No audition or fee is currently required – decisions are made by RMF’s Scholarship Committee.

·     Students with financial need are preferred over those without noted need. Students and/or music educators should mention financial need, if any, in their essay or letter of recommendation. Financial need can range from qualifying for a reduced lunch program to single parent families or multiple siblings.

For all Scholarships/Awards:

·         APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE NOTED DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, NO EXCEPTIONS.

By completing the application and making sure that the application, any required supporting materials such as music teacher endorsements, and the audition fee, if any, are postmarked no later than the deadline, or hand-delivered to RMF’s office by the deadline. We must strictly enforce deadlines for the sake of the many students who apply on time.
